Be Your Customer

Trying to decide if your direct mail efforts will work? Maybe you’ve come up with a postcard design and offer but aren’t sure if it will definitely get your phones ringing. What can you do to be sure?

Start by becoming your customer. Take a step back from your direct marketing campaign and look at it as if you were the prospect. How would you react to to the design? Is the offer strong enough? Does it look credible? Are you selling something that your target market would want? Try and think about what your customer would want and if your direct mail campaign is offering something that will fulfill that want. If you’re still not sure, run it by friends or colleagues and ask for their honest feedback. If they aren’t convinced by what you’re offering you may want to think about changing a few things.
